2006 Update
Bumbu Bali, Restaurant & Cooking
School
Warung Sate, Steaks on Sticks
Dear Balinese food lovers,
Greetings from the now hot and humid,
but still beautiful heart of Tanjung Benoa, to all four
corners of our magnificent Planet. |
Bumbu Bali, Restaurant
& Cooking School Celebrates its 9th Birthday
On December 8 it is time to celebrate nine years
of commitment towards Balinese food culture. It makes
us extremely proud to look back and think about the
great many events we were able to host, the countless
cooking classes, and most importantly it was and will
always be a joy to meet daily new personalities and
people. Without your whole hearted support we would
not be able to continue our quest to bring Balinese
food from villages and private homes on to the tables
in Bumbu Bali and Warung Sate. We feel privileged
to receive daily so many great comments with respect
to the overall dining experience. We are equally grateful
towards the many comments recommending improvements,
and ways we can serve you better during your next
visit.

THREE
SPECIAL AWARDS
Puri Agung Singaraja
Award
It was a great honor when we received
this very special award from the King of Singaraja for
our efforts to promote the culture of Indonesia, as
well as our involvement to protect endangered sea turtles
and the environment. Some of the other distinguished
recipients of this award were the former President of
Indonesia, Ibu Megawati Sukarno Putri as well as the
Sultan of Balengbang. |
| Best
Appetizer
The readers also selected Bumbu Bali
for serving The Best Appetizer on the
island, which was for perhaps Bali’s most original sate,
The Sate Lilit (seafood sate).
Traditionally this sate is still up
to today far too often prepared with turtle meat. Since
we are very active to protect and save as many turtles
as possible, it seems like turtles are helping us in
receiving recognition for our continues protection effort.
The same sate was also selected by our publisher as
the photograph for the front cover of one of our books
on Bali’s cuisine.

Bumbu Bali, Restaurant & Cooking School
was awarded by the readers of Hello Bali Magazine, Bali’s
leading tourist magazine as The Best Balinese
Restaurant on the Island.
