Gangga Island Resort
and Spa
On a recent visit to this spectacular beautiful island resort
in Northern Sulawesi, where addicted divers claim to find
some of the worlds best and most prestine diving sports within
the Bunaken island archipelago. The reason for my visit were
not turtles but the cuisine with its unmistakenly Thai influence.
During my stay I simply was astonished by the magic white
powderlik beaches which surely must be perfect nesting beaches
for turtles.
Subsequently I was totally delighted to find Mr. Gaspare the
General Manager of this isolated ecoresort which instantly
decided to launch an immediat turtle rescue program and within
12 hours we where able to free four small turtles kept by
the neighboring villagers as pets.
The hotel team is now actively campaigning at the local schools
to safe, rescue and nurture turtles and not to eat, trade
or destroy this magnificent reptiles.
